How Wuthering & Wonders came to be

- What a tale to be told…

I wanted a name that could hold the feeling I wanted my paintings to evoke.

The word wuthering first found me through one of my favourite novels, Wuthering Heights. I have always loved the word, and everything it seems to carry with it: wild winds across the moors, dark skies, old stone houses, and stories shaped by love, longing, obsession and the strange, complicated nature of being human.

But I wanted something more.

Something softer. Stranger. More wondrous.

So came Wonder: the feeling of stumbling upon something unexpected, beautiful or almost magical. Of discovering a hidden path, finding something where you didn't expect it, or seeing the familiar world become a little more mysterious.

Wuthering & Wonders became a place somewhere between the two.

A little wild, a little wistful. Dark and dreamy. Rooted in old stories, but always looking for something just beyond the ordinary.

That is the feeling I hope to find in my paintings and the little world I want to create here.
